How to delete everything from the app

Open BrightLog on your device
Go to Settings (gear icon) and sign in with the same Google or Apple account if you aren’t already — the button is only shown while you are signed in
Tap Delete All BrightLog Data, at the top of Settings under Sign Out
Confirm, then sign in once more when asked — this proves it is you. BrightLog then returns to first setup, as on a fresh install

This removes everything in a single step:

All journal entries, mood check-ins, and Feelings Wheel emotion data
All goals, habits, check-ins and their history, including breaks and pauses
Everything saved in your Gratitude Pot
All notes, attachments (photos, videos, audio, documents), and AI insights
Therapy session preparations, your streak and badges, and your moments of care
Every setting — App Lock, appearance, notifications, your AI and analytics choices, your country and postcode. Only your language is kept
Cloud backups (Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iPhone and iPad)
Your BrightLog sign-in: the account is deleted and, on Android, BrightLog’s access to your Google Drive is withdrawn

Your Apple ID or Google account itself will not be affected. On iPhone and iPad, anything iCloud has not finished deleting is removed the next time the app opens.

This action is permanent. Once deleted, your journal entries, goals, gratitude notes, attachments, AI insights, therapy preparations and cloud backups cannot be recovered.

What data does BrightLog store?

Journal & well-being data — entries, mood check-ins, Feelings Wheel emotions, goals and habit check-ins, Gratitude Pot notes, attachments, therapy preparations, your streak and badges, moments of care and AI insights, kept in a private database on your device and optionally backed up to your own cloud storage (Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iPhone and iPad). AI insights are written afresh after a restore, not restored
Email address — used to sign you in with Google or Apple, stored by Firebase Authentication; on Android the Google sign-in also lets BrightLog save your backups to your own Google Drive
App preferences — notification, backup, appearance and App Lock settings, your AI and analytics choices, and the country and optional postcode you enter for the Experts tab, all stored on your device

We count things like how often a screen is opened, so we know what to improve. We never collect what you write, and you can turn this off under Settings > Privacy & Analytics — switching it off also erases what was already collected. See our full Privacy Policy.

Can’t access the app?

If you no longer have access to the app, contact us and we will delete your BrightLog sign-in record. Your backups live only in your own cloud storage, where you can remove them yourself from your iCloud or Google Drive storage settings.
